IronMan 70.3 Subic Bay experience by Tin Ahorro

On June 15, 2025, eleven (11) CleanTech teams competed, with some members biking, swimming, and running.

The Ironman 70.3 journey in Subic wasn’t just a race—it was a powerful lesson in grit, growth, and what it truly takes to cross the finish line.

The real challenge was balancing work, family, and the occasional injury through months of training. For some, life got in the way. For others, it was about mindset: “How much did I really want this?” was a quiet but recurring theme.

The heat was brutal, the course was tougher than expected, but personal bests were broken, and memories were made. Some athletes were cut off, yes—but almost all are eager to continue—just with smarter preparation, more realistic distances, and a stronger support system.

Moving forward, we’re taking these reflections seriously. That means:

  • Better communication and pre-race coordination
  • More inclusive and flexible training options
  • Clearer expectations, especially for new or last-minute athletes
  • Stronger support on race day—from hydration to headspace

Most importantly, a reminder that endurance racing isn't just about athleticism—it’s about accountability, persistence, and showing up for yourself and your team. And if this race proved anything, it’s that we’re just getting started.
